The yard sign is a must. It gives your home added exposure. Prospective buyers interested in your neighborhood are already driving around. Without a sign, they will not know your home is for sale and you risk losing a buyer for your home.

In addition, more homes are sold from signs than from any other source. If you make your own sign, you risk looking inexperienced and will be easy prey for experienced buyers. Therefore, go to a sign maker (look in the yellow pages under "sign") and have it professionally made. You will not regret it.

The sign should be simple and have two things on it:

Your Phone Number

You can also attach a small plastic box to the top of the sign. Inside you can enclose fact sheets for buyers to take for themselves or a relative. Be sure your fact sheet has a complete description of your home. Don't forget to add your name and phone number. You want to make it as simple as possible for the buyer to call you.
